Old Hobbs, an Australian greyhound sire which made an im mediate impact after being introduced to Canterbury breed ers by Barry Steels, has returned to New Zealand After hu» highly-surceikful stud career in Christchurch. Old Hobbs returned to Australia for a short stint and lias now it turned to New Zealand and is standing at Peter Henley s stud in Auckland Henley, who used to have an establishment at Oxford and w ho trained Rise and Shine to win the New Zealand championship, tried his fortune in Australia, but has since returned to New Zealand. Old Hobbs was in big demand in Canterbury and has left topclass dogs over all distances His progeny are still enjoying considerable success and one of them, Smoky Hobbs, has proved one of the top chasers in the province tills year.
