Apache King for Sydney
Apache King, a promising three-year-old, has been sold by Mrs N. F. Ashton, of West Melton, to a patron of Kevin Newmans Sydney team.
By Lordship from Spring Greetings, he is a halfbrother to Admiral King, Derby Globe and Arabian King, all of which have been successful in Australia. The maiden pacer, Country Eagle, formerly trained at’ Addington by Charlie Saunders, will do his future racing in Queensland in the interests of Mr Jack Greathead, of Brisbane. Central Standardbred Agency, Auckland, has purchased the seven-year-old, Barvin, from his Middlemarch trainer, Vince Heffernan, and the four-year-old, Motu Hal, from Mr George Timperley, of Coutts Island. Corona Copper, a yearling
colt by Truant Hanover from Gold Wind, has been sold to I Mr Jack Honan, of Sydney,i by Mr Gordon Smart, ofj Kaiapoi. He is a half-brother to Corona Gold and Corona Bronze, the last-named showing good form for Mr Honan.
Big Win has also been bought by Mr Honan. A two-year-old colt by Out to Win from Lelwyn, he was owned by Messrs Bill Plaisted, of Darfield, and Basil Forsyth, of Christchurch.
Beil Vitell, a four-year-old mare by Jack Chance from San Vitalez, ranking as a sister to the talented Sydney three-year-old, Cyprus River, has been bought by Mr Dick Williams of Sydney. She is to be served by Massie. All of the sales were negotiated by the standardbred division of Wrightson Bloodstock, Ltd.
