‘Haste' with amendment

The haste with which the Children and Young Persons Amendment Bill is being considered by Parliament greatly concerns social workers with the Anglican Social Services group in Christchurch. A telegram sent to the Minister of Social Welfare (Mr Walker) yesterday by the social workers asked that the debate on the amendments be postponed because not enough time had been allowed for submissions.
