Submissions on tourism
The Tourism Advisory Council has received more than 60 submissions about New Zealand tourism from organisations and persons. C o m m e n t s and suggestions, invited from tourist-related interests in October, have been made on such matters as the teaching of English as a foreign language to tourists visiting New Zealand, on New Zealand music, youth hostels and marae living, art galleries and museums, and sales tax on souvenirs. Submissions are being considered by the council and its committees, and the chairman (Mr R. W. Baird) says thev will assist the council when it prepares recommendations on the future development of tourism in New Zealand for presentation to the Government next year.
