Jester Boy second

NZPA Sydney For the second successive time, a betting plunge on the New Zealand galloper, Jester Boy, has been thwarted by a fast-finishing outsider. At Rosehill on November 12, there was some big money on Jester Boy when he was beaten by the 20 to 1 outsider, Tricman, in a 1500 m welter event. At Rosehill on Saturday, Jester Boy looked a certain winner of the 2000 m Baulkham Handicap—leading nearly all the way until overtaken inside the final 100 m by New Zealand-bred Side Show, the 33 to 1 rank outsider in a nine-horse field. Jester Boy firmed from 7 to 2 and started the 2 to 1 second favourite. He was beaten bv a head. Nirangi was a length and a quarter away, third.
