MIXED TRADING ON MARKET
Despite the N.Z.U.C. index easing 1.16 points to 282.91. rises outnumbered falls by nearly two to one on a mixed, active New Zealand sharemarket yesterday. Atlas fell 2c to 50c, and its price ranged from 52c to 48c, after a sharp decline in profits, and Sanford eased 10c to 320 c, its first fall for three weeks. N.Z. Forest remained steady at 200 c. Special sales accounted for more than 50 per cent of total turnover, including 328,000 Optical Holdings rights at sc.
