Tradesmen employed at the Lion Breweries, Ltd, brewery in Christchurch who have been on strike this week after working to rule since November 2 would meet on November 21, said the secretary of the Canterbury branch of the Engineers Union (Mr R. J. Todd) yesterday. Tradesmen at Lion’s Dunedin brewery are also on strike, but those employed by Dominion Breweries, Ltd, at Washdyke

and Greymouth are not on strike. Mr Todd said that he would meet the Lion Breweries employers on November 22 to discuss the situation. The dispute is about wage claims in a South Island agreement. The public relations manager of Lion Brweries (Mr D. J. Fitzgerald) said yesterday that production was continuing. He did not know how long it would continue, he said.
