Road reports for drivers

All Automobile Association (Canterbury) matters in Buller arq to be handled by . the manager of the association’s Carter’s Beach Camp. Mr J. B. Mulholland, from January 1, 1978. This is the advice recently given to the Buller Chamber of Commerce. The chamber had been concerned about the difficulty of getting road reports, especially on the condition of the Lewis Pass, and Mr G. R. Wood was asked to report on the matter.

Mr Wood, in a letter to the chamber, outlined the new arrangements which would take effect from January 1 when A.A. matters are to be transferred from Avery and Roselli to the Motor Camp.

Mr Mulholland already has regular contact with Canterbury A.A. about the two Alpine passes. In future, motorists will be able to telephone the Carter’s Beach camp at tny time if they are in doubt about the condition of roads, Mr Wood told the chamber.
