O’Brien as chairman of the Commerce Commission I was announced by the Minister of Trade and Industry I (Mr Adams-Schneider). “Mr O’Brien’s wide knows ledge and experience will be invaluable to the work of the commission,” said the Minister. “Mr O’Brien, who has been a full time member since his appointment in November 1975, will be the commission’s first full-time chairman. t “The increasing work load'

Another reason for Mr Bornholdt stepping down is the pressure of work in his law practice,” said Mr AdamsSchneider. The Minister paid a high tribute to Mr Bornholdt’s work on the commission. As the first chairman Mr Bora nholdt had the responsibility of establishing its administration and operating procedures.
“I am sure that the ground work laid by Mr Bomholdt will stand the commission in good stead for a long time to come,” said the Minister. The appointment of Mr J. S. Clendon, a barrister and solicitor, of Lower Hutt, as a member of the commission was also announced by the (Minister. I “.Mr Clendon was chairman of the former Trade Practices and Prices Commission and I am pleased that he has agreed to accept the appointment,” said the Minister. ! ‘His previous experience and his abilities should be invaluable to the commission’s work, particularly in the trade practices area.”
