Petition to wind up car firm
A petition to wind up Christchurch Car Sales Ltd, has been (edged with the Supreme Court in Christchurch. Sonyac Enterprises, Ltd, a local taxi firm attached to Gold Band Taxis, has petitioned for the winding up of the car sales firm, in Colombo Street, and the application will be heard next Wednesday. Mr F. A. Crowe, the proprietor of Christchurch Car Sales, said yesterday that the petition was the result of legal wrangles over an accident about a year ago involving one of his cars and a taxi. The sum of $lO3O was involved in the dispute, he said. Christchurch Car Sales was fined $525 in July for seven breaches of the Economic Stabilisation Act by; failing to comply with the j hire-purchase regulations.! The Magitsrate’s Court; found that the firm had not! received the necessary 601 per cent deposit under the Act when selling some cars.
