Women to receive $1.5M

NZPA-Reuter New York “Reader’s Digest” magazine, in one of the largest settlements of its kind in United States history, has agreed to pay about SI.SM to 2600 past and present woman employees in a sexdiscrimination suit. The women’s suit, filed four years ago by eight employees, contended that the magazine discriminated in hiring, promotion, assignments, pay and other work conditions.
