Lamb price down

Meat exporters have withdrawn the 50c per carcase premium on lamb killed in time for early shipment to the United kingdom. An industry spokesman said that it would not be possible to load a container with any of next week’s kill of lamb in time to get aboard the ship ACT 7. However, 2c per kilogram has been added to the price of the meat of YL and YM grade lambs and 1c to the price of OL and OM lambs. Small reductions have been made to lamb skin prices. For a skin with jkg of wool, the price has been reduced by 2c; and where the skin has Ikg of wool, the reduction is 4c. A standard 13.6 kg PM grade lamb with 0.7 kg of wool will now be worth $12.23, compared with $12.61 at the opening of the season.
