Dean feels ‘fine’

PA Auckland *T am not rushing any fences yet, but I feel quite fit,” said the Very Rev. Martin Sullivan, on Sunday. Dean Sullivan, who is 67, and who recently retired as Dean of St Paul’s Cathedral, London, was admitted to the coronary unit at Auckland Hospital on October 19, the day after he arrived in Auckland from England. “But it was no coronary,” he said. “They found I had fluid behind my lungs. I was discharged two days later. The doctor saw me again last Friday and I feed fine now.”

Dean Sullivan said he had “no plan at all except to retire—and when you retire, you need a little spell to gather up your threads.” Staying with a sister in Kohimarama, he said his and Mrs Sullivan’s first task was to find a house. Then, if there was any way he could contribute to Auckland, he said he would be happy to do so.
