Exhibition of models
The Ferrymead Military Section is to hold a model exhibition and display of childrens drawings in the Horticultural Hall {off Cambridge Terrace) from November 10 to 19.
’ Models will be displayed by individual members of the public and, as part of the exhibition, will be judged and prizes awarded. A model railway will be set up, and there will be displays by one or two of the model shops, model clubs, and a display of badges and military covers.
As part of the exhibition. the organisers are running a drawing and painting competition, for children between the ages of 7 and 15. The best entries will be awarded prizes. The closing date for this competition is Monday, November 7. Children may obtain entry forms from P.O. Box 22737, or may send in their entries, together with full details of their name, address, telephone number, age, and parents signature. Any proceeds from the holding of the model exhibition will go towards the establishing of a military museum (including restoration of military equipment) at Ferrymead.
