Low-price Games tour with five exciting stopovers

“The Press” has organised a specially designed low-price supporters’ tour to Canada for the Commonwealth Games in Edmonton next year. The 23-day tour will include 12 days at Edmonton for the duration of the Games, with stopovers at Nandi, Vancouver, Banff, Los Angeles, and Honolulu.

Highlights will include a 20-hour journey by train from Vancouver through the Rockies to Banff and a 170-mile air-conditioned coach trip along the magnificent Icefields Parkway to Jasper.

The cost of this escorted tour includes: • All air fares (economy class) from Christchurch back to Christchurch.

Members of the tour will fly out of Christchurch with Air New Zealand for Nandi on Friday, July 28. The first night will be at Fiji’s top resort, the luxurious Regent Hotel. The tour will leave Nandi at 4.20 p.m. with CP Air for Vancouver, arriving there at 10 a.m. the same day. After two days of sightseeing in this beautiful city of British Columbia, the group will board CP Rail’s famous “Canadian” for the unforgettable journey through the Rockies to Banff.

On Wednesday, August 2, the party will travel by air-conditioned coach along the Icefields Parkway to Jasper and Edmonton for the first of 11 nights in the Best Western Lodge Motel. The official opening of the Games will be the following day. On the day after the Games end, Sunday, August 13, the tour will fly from Edmonton across the Rockies to Vancouver and Los Angeles for two nights at Anaheim, allowing a full day at Disneyland. Then, on the evening of Tuesday, August 15, the group will fly to Hawaii for three relaxing days at Honolulu, staying at the Waikiki Outrigger Hotel.

The tour will return to Christchurch on the afternoon of Sunday, August 20.
