Tighter security Security precautions have been tightened at the headquarters of the Hong Kong anti-corruption commission after a mob attack on Friday and four subsequent bomb threats, the police said today. On Friday about 40 people, believed to be offduty policemen, stormed the office of the independent commission against corruption, which has vowed to stamp out police corruption syndicates and has arrested 120 policemen in graft probes over the last two months.—Hong Kong. Prison riot Riot police have clashed with prisoners who set fire l<< two cell blocks in Modelo Prison in Barcelona and an unknown number of people have been injured. The prisoners — all serving sentences for common law offences — apparently staged the mutiny in protest against the Government’s refusal to grant them amnesty along the lines of one given to political prisoners earlier this month. —- Barcelona.
Demands not met The European Common Market has sidestepped most of the important demands made by the Arab nations at the so-called Euro-Arab dialogue in Brussels informed sources say. They said that the Common Market has not responded to an Arab call for the E.E.C. States to recognise the Palestine Liberation Organisation as the legitimate representative of the Palestinian people. — Brussels.
