Father and son take model-plane titles

A squadron leader from Wigram won the New Zealand model radio-control soaring championships held at the weekend. His son won the junior title. Paul Lagan, aged 36, won a National Aiiways Corporation trophy, and a trip for two anywhere in New Zealand from the airline, as his prize. Over-all placings In the championships were determined by totalling the points of the four events Tn the two-day series held at Pleasant Point. Thirty-three contestants entered. John Lagan, aged 11, was the youngest competitor. He was top junior fiver, as well as being placed ninth in the open category.
