I While its closest pursuers, Liverpool and West Bromwich Albion, both lost, Forest rode two goals by its full-back, Viv Anderson, to its tenth victory in 13 league matches since winning promotion from the second division this season. Manchester City, rated a solid contender for first division honours in pre-season reckonings, broke out of a slump that had seen it go 10 league and cup games with only two victories by blasting Liverpool, 3-1, after trailing 1-0 at half-time. West Bromwich came unstuck in London, where Queen’s Park : Rangers beat it. 2-1. on a late i winner from Stan Bowies. Another challenger. Everton, came out of a goal feast at its Goodison Park home match against lowly Newcastle with a 4-4 draw. Forest is now’ on top with 22 points. Liverpool second with 18, and West Bromwich.
