Just a Song lame

Just a Song’s race career might have ended at Mctukarara on Saturday. The Zamazaan five-year-old was very sore on pulling up after the Ballins Industries Handicap, second leg of the T.A.B. double.

A veterinary examination has disclosed that the cause of his lameness is the suspensory ligament in the off-fore leg.

“It is a bit hard to make any firm decision yet about his future but wi'Z suspensory-ligament trouble it does not look very bright,” Just a Song's Riccarton trainer, George Humphries, who races the five-year-old in partnership with Mr David Clarkson, said yesterday morning.
