Allegation of assault false
Allegations made by a girl that she was indecently assaulted in Somerfield Park about 8.30 p.m. on Friday have proved false. Police say the allegation was the result of a domestic upset.
Detectives earlier thought the assault may have been
linked with two earlier incidents. A girl aged 16 was indecently assaulted on October 20. and a
woman was raped in her McCarthy Street home on October 21, both incidents occurring within a short distance of Somerfield Park.
