Waiouru inquiry
PA Wellington A Commission of Inquiry into social facilities in the Waiouru military camp and township will be set up soon, according to the Acting Minister of Defence, (Mr Thomson.) The commission will be Mr J. J. Macky, of Taupo, a retired Commissioner of Works, who may seek the appointment of an addi-
tional member should he find this necessary. The commission will pay particular attention to the housing, education, social welfare and health services, the cultural and recreational facilities available, public transport links, commercial facilities, and existing shopping facilities. The report will be presented by February.
