Public Notices OXFORD COUNTY COUNCIL PROPOSED BY-LAWS FOR THE CONTROL OF DOGS PUBLIC NOTICE is given that pursuant and in exercise of the powers vested in it by the Counties Act 1956, and the amendments thereto and each and every other power and authority enabling it, the Oxford County Council, at a Special Meeting convened for the purpose and held at the Council Chambers, Oxford, on October 3, 1977, resolved by way of Special Order to make a By-law to be called:— “The Oxford County Council By-Law for the Control of Dogs 1977.” The object of purpose of such By-law is to give the Oxford County Council powers in respect to the control of dogs in the County. This By-law limits the number of dogs that an occupier can keep in any Residential Zone unless any such occupier is the holder of a licence for such purpose. The By-law also has a provision whereby any dog must at all times be under continuous and effective control and gives the council powers in respect to unregistered dogs, female or diseased dogs, barking dogs, dogs becoming a nuisance or injurious to Health and dogs fouling the footway. FURTHER NOTICE is given that the Special Resolution relating to all the above and passed at the Special Meeting of the Council on October 3. 1977, will be submitted to the Ordinary Meeting of the Council to be held on Monday, November 7, 1977, in the Council Chambers, Oxford, for confirmation as a Special Order.
