EASY MARKET TONE PREVAILS
Rises barely outnumbered falls on a mixed, easier New. Zealand sharemarket yesterday. The N.Z.U.C. index fell 0.89 to 283.80 points, and the rises consisted mainly of second-line shares. Trading was active, particularly in Lion Breweries rights and preference shares. E. Lichtenstein rose 5c on its optimistic annual report, and the preference shares of Kempthorne Prosser also firmed a further sc.
