New soft-drink caps

An innovation in the bottle top industry adopted by a Rangiora soft drink firm will mean many Christchurch householders can stop worrying about finding that elusive bottle opener. Maunders, Ltd, who market “Sport” drinks,

have introduced screw tops for their bottles. It is the first time the screw tops have been made available in the South Island. The secretary of Maunders, Ltd, (Mr J. Gowland) says the screw tops — similiar to those on tomato sauce bottles — can be

reused and will keep the soft drink fresh. Maunders accepted the franchise off an Auckland firm a year ago and leased a new machine to handle their task. Mr I. Miller is shown using one of the new screw tops.
