Dr Shahak, an Israeli citi- i zen, said his country was violating human rights by i confiscating land “in a particularly cruel and unjust,
.way” in the occupied West Bank, the Golan Heights, the Gaza Strip, and the Sinai. I “The military government iof the occupied territories [has devoted this land, in I principle and in fact, to the [uses of the Israeli [settlements only, without any regard to the fact that it has served the existing population of the conquered territories from time immemorial,” he said. “Moreover, this use is racist use.” He said that though the settlements were called Israeli, they were exclusively Jewish.
