Parliament's diary
Parliament sat at 2.30 p.m. yesterday. The Prime Minister (Mr Muldoon) moved that the House do not sit until the ringing of the bells today to allow members to attend a farewell reception for the Governor - General (Sir Denis Blundell). The annual reports of the Oamaru, Ashburton, and Portage licensing trusts were tabled. Members gave notice of two notices of motion. Ministers answered 17 questions. The House continued the Estimates debate until the 5.30 p.m. dinner adjournment. The House debated the Crown Law Office Estimates, the Earthquake and War Damage Commission Estimates. The debate on the Post Office Estimates was interrupted by the adjournment at 10.25 p.m.
