LIVING IN A GLASSHOUSE

Gardening is an enjoyable hobby. And because it means big savings on weekly food bills, it also is a rewarding pastime. There is a tremendous sense of achievement in growing your own fresh fruit and vegetables right from the start. And by installing an inexpensive glasshouse you can grow them all year round. An Auckland company, Edenlite Garden Products, has available one of the largest selections of glasshouses, lean-tos and extensions in New Zealand. There are nine models to choose from.

For garden lovers who want a glasshouse and everything it produces, but have limited garden space, Edenlite recently introduced an attractive lean-to which literally brings the garden into the home.

By adding the lean-to to a lounge or kitchen, home-makers can relax and enjoy the peaceful sur-

roundings of an indoor flower and plant haven. And as a Lounge or kitchen extension it provides warm and wind-free protection from inclement weather. The lean-tos can also be attached to the outside wall of a building, or used as an extension to an existing glasshouse, for growing vegetables, fruit or flowers throughout the year.

In these days of rapidly increasing food prices, owning a glasshouse is like growing your own money. The smallest model (6ft x 4ft), for instance, can provide 1001 b of tomatoes, cucumbers, lettuce or strawberries in a single season. And they are ready for tl.o table when shop prices are at their highest. Savings made by growing your own garden produce cover the initial cost of the glasshouse within two years. And in rapidly rising food prices, it is an enjoyable way to combat inflation.
