Ski reports released by the Canterbury Ski Association at noon yesterday were:— Amur!.—3Bcm snow this week; powder snow and packed; skiable level 1400 m; Bordeaux Basin and Shirtfront tows operating; road open; chains necessary. Craigieburn.—3ocm of new powder snow; excellent ski-ing; all tows operating; road open; chains essential. Erewhon—3ocm snow on August 29; over-all snow depth 65cm; excellent snow cover; all three rope tows operating; helicopter ski-ing this week-end, weather permitting; access road open; chains to be carried. Lake Ohau.—4ocm new snow; excellent ski-ing; all facilities operating. Mount Hutt.—Last snow fall August 29; packed powder: excellent ski-ing; all lift facilities operating; chains must be carried. Porter Heights.—4ocm snow fell August 29; packed powder on all runs: all tows operating; road clear. Tekapo.—s4cm new snow, last fall September 1; all facilities operating; road clear, but chains must be carried. Temple Basin—2ocm of new

powder anow, downhill and beginners’ tows operating ski hire and Instruction available; goods lift operating, 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. week-ends.

Cheeseman.—Medium fall on August 31; light powder on firm base; skiable level 1570 m; main lifts operational; road open to top car park; chains necessary; field open dally. Mt Cook.—Excellent ski-ing with 60cm of new powder snow, in Ben Ohau Range and on glaciers.

Treble Cone scm on August 30; powder snow; skiable level 1250 m; all tows operating: road open but chains must be carried.

Fox Peak.—Fresh fall on Tuesday, 95cm; snowing again Thursday; powder snow conditions cover total skiable area to 1000 m; learners’ and main slopes packed; excellent conditions; all tows operating; road cleared; chains should be carried. Broken River.—l2cm of new snow; excellent conditions; skiable level 1600 m; all tows operating; good road conditions; chains necessary .

Coronet Peak.—Last snow fall was 2)cm at base area August 29; excellent ski-ing all over mountain; all facilities operating; road and car park clear.
