Racing and trotting Wee Win has sound win at Addington trials
By

XV ee Win furthered his preparation for a resumption of racing in the A. E. Laing Handicap on Saturday with a win at the Addington trials yesterday. The pace was not a strong one, hut in won handily and might be ready to make a bold bid in Saturday’s race.
Wee Win led for the last 1400 m of 2600 m in 3min 30.25, the final 800 m in 60s, and the last 400 m in 29.45. Wee Win looks to have had a fair amount of work. Winning Smoke, which has failed to complete the course in his two starts to date, showed no ill effects from the incidents in which he was involved. He was a!ways handy and fought on well for second, half a length from Wee Win. Sunseeke.-, well back early, put in good work to finish third, ahead of Trusty Scot, which was not pushed. Commissioner, which raced quite kindly for Garry Lindley until inside the last 800 m, was a fair fifth, ahead of Kiwi Kid and Bronze! Regal. Western Approach made ‘ an improved showing when! he led throughout the main I event for trotters. He »'cld| off Sharmbro by a length,] with Big Poplar beaten oft next, ahead of Beach Road] and Mary Dhu. Special Princess was!
equally as impressive in thje other event for trotters. She ’made much of the pace and ■ held on for a handy win ■over Life Line. Question Mark was beaten off. third, . shading a solid finisher in Spot Luck. Special Princess looks a i great chance in the In-i ]troductory Handicap on] I Saturday, a race in which I Spot Luck will take beating. ; Johnny Regalo overcame a ] slow start to win the first I heat for CO and Cl pacers in !3min 32.15. Downs Road held off Johnny Lincoln for second by two lengths, with Atlavar at the head of the others. The second heat was won by Della from Captain Forever and Radiant Mac. The
time was 3min 37.85. Cap- ] tain Forever is in at Hutt • Park, where he should be j untroubled to win. Armbro Dhu, Scottish 1 I Loch, Local Robber, Pinza, 1 . Captain Clive.
