Concorde ban will continue

.NZPA-Reuter Newkirk A United States "ederals Appeals Court has given the I Port Authority of New York :and New Jersey at least I until September 19 to continue its ban against flights 'of the Concorde supersonic i jet at Kennedy Airport. A three-judge panel of the United States Court of Appeals voted unan mously to let the port authority continue to bar the flights while its appeal of a lowercourt order to permit tne flights is heard.

The action came in res-1 ponse to a motion by the! port authority to extend a' stay of an order by Judge, Milton Pollack, of the District Court, to end the ban of the passenger plane on August 30. The authority has appealed on the ground that more study is needed of noise impact, in the light of the possibility of mui’imil-lion-dollar damage suits by residents of the airport’s neighbourhood.
