P.M. for Tamaki

PA Wellington The Prime Minister (Mr Muldoon) has been confirmed as the National Party’s candidate for the Tamaki Electorate for the 1978 General Election. The party’s chairman (Mr G. A. Chapman) said Mr Muldoon had been confirmed as the party’s candidate unopposed, when nominations closed at noon on Friday. Since the party’s selection programme started at the beginning of August, a rush of applications have been received from electorates with sitting National MPs to select candidates, Mr Chapman said.

The Tamaki electorate was one of the first applications to be approved and he expected more in the coming weeks.
