Situation: A depression east of Gis--1 borne remains slow-moving and a cold front in the Tasman Sea is moving eastwards. Forecasts: Marlborough, Nelson: Variable skies, isolated showers and fresh southerlies along the Marlborough coast light winds, and fine in other areas, frosts tonight away from the coast.
Buller, Westland: Light winds, fine; frosts tonight; outlook mainly fair though there may be isolated showers. Canterbury: Fine, light winds, frosts again tonight inland; northerlies gradually prevailing on the coast. Outlook: Mainly fair in Canterbury and on the West Coast; fine elsewhere.
