Park proposal

Sir, —As a resident 'of Lower Cashmere I would be very pleased to see the corner section of Cashmere Road and Worsleys Road sold to a developer for homes. I sincerely hope the parks and recreation committee will decide against another park when we have the Skellerup Reserve in the area. It is only the resi-

dents in the immediate vicinity who are pushing for the park. The council is heavily committed and is short of money. The very idea of going to the public, failing the council’s assistance, is just not on. The public are asked to help pay for restoration of the Old Stone House which already is far too costly. There are enough parks 'in this area, why should the public be asked to help pay for the wishes of a few?—Yours, D. GREEN. August 27, 1977.
