Gibbons retained at centre
Tn obvious recognition of his fine performance against Bay of Plenty on Saturday, Shane Gibbons has been retained at centre for Canterbury's next match in the Radio New Zealand championship — against Southland at Invercargill on Wednesday. Terry Mitchell was not available to travel south and Randall Scott is restored to the right wing.
This is the only change in the side. The team is: Richard Wilson; Scott Cartwright, Gibbons, Scott; Murray McEwan, Doug Bruce; Lyn Davis; Alex Wyllie; John Phillips, Vance Stewart, Graeme Higginson, Dave Thompson; Barry Thompson, John Black, John Ashworth. The reserves are Alwyn Harvey, John Harwood, Mark Romans, and Andy Jefferd.
