Six Nuffield scholars
PA Dunedin Six senior science lecturers and scientists have been awarded Nuffield Foundation travelling scholarships. Only one — Dr B. M. Peake, of the University of Otago — is from the South Island. Doctor Peake, a physical chemist whose main research interest is in electron-spin resonance spectroscopy, plans to spend five months at Leeds University, followed by three months at Leicester University, and two months at Sussex University. Doctor Peake has been a lecturer at the Otago chemistry department since 1972. The fellowships, announced yesterday, are.—Dr J. D. H. Collen (Victoria University). Dr N. J. Dawson (Auckland Medical School), Dr B. P. Johnson (Victoria University), Dr Peake, Dr G. W. Yates (D.5.1.R., Wellington), Dr R. I. Goldblatt (Victoria University). The Nuffield Foundation established the fellowships to encourage the movement of scholars between Commonwealth countries.
