Mr Million making progress
Special correspondent Palmerston North Mr Million ran a smart gallop at Awapuni yesterday morning in preparation for resuming at Tauranga next Tuesday. But the news about the Waikato candidate Ragham is all bad. He pulled up lame after galloping and there seems little chance he will be able to make the trip. Ragham is an acceptor for the Foxbridge Plate. He ran 1000 m with Stylish Sovereign but pulled ; up lame. The trouble seems to be near one of his heels. There seems little or no chance of a quick recovery, so his Waikato trip is jn doubt. Mr Million was sent 800 m on the inside trial which was sloppy. Surrey Park went with him but Mr Million was a length ahead . at the finish, running his 800 m in 51sec, the last 600 m in 38.4 sec. Time honours over 800 m went to Gold Arc. a recent addition to : the Ivil stable. Gold Arc ran. 800 m in 50see_. the final 600 m in : 37sec. The Gold Trail Stakes is! his main spring target Zareg and I.ord Mayor covered; 800 m in 53sec. the final 600 m in 40sec. Sa.so and Stunnamede jumped two hurdles then ran 1400 m in Imin 39sec. the last 600 m in 42sev. Koreign worked nicely in preparation for Taranaki. The grey has freshened and might be capable of a good effort Yesterday, Koreign and Barnabas ran 1000 m in Imin 6.4 sec, the last 600 m in 40sec. Felvin Lass took Imin 11 sec for 1000 m. the final 600 m in 42sec. and Cullinan ran easily over 800 m in 54.8 sec. the last 600 m in 40.8 sec. Sweet Lave was timed over 600 m in 41.4 sec and Secretin took 41sec tor a similar task. Shahri/ah ran 40sec for 600 m and Gold Reign took 44.45ec fox 600 m after running 1600 m easily London Trader was kept to
Imin 10.8 sec for 1000 m, the last | 600 m in 42.65ev. He is in fine : heart for Taranaki and should; be the one to beat in the second ' leg. Totara Park covered 1000 m in Imin 6 6see. the iast 600 m in 40.2 see and Uhitral was timed over 1200 m in Imin 21.5 sec, the ' last 600 m in 40.2 sec
