Research on Pacific women

A 22-year-old New Zealander is at present conducting research projects into the wmrk and education opportunities of Pacific women.

Miss Sue Green, who has a degree in sociaology and education from the University of Waikato, is now the research officer of the Pacific Women’s Resource Centre.

The organisation, which was set up in Suva last year, aims to gather information about the organisations, activities and opportunities available to women throughout the Pacific region.

It also intends conducting and co-ordinating training programmes for women, and its full-time staff of three is based at the centre’s offices in Suva.

Miss Green is a former education vice-president of rhe New Zealand University Students’ Association, As well as carrying out research, she is responsible for setting up a library at the centre.
