$34,000 loss on ‘Lauder'

PA Dunedin The Otago Theatre Trust made a loss of $34,000 on Jimmx Logan’s "Lauder.” the trust chairman (Mr D. J. Lovell) said. But Mr Lovell said that the appeal for stage two development of the Regent Theatre "is not influenced bv this setback.” and none of the funds raised were affected by the promotions side of the trust's activities.

“Donations to stage two| are, of course, protected, and are held in a separate bank' account,” he said. Mr Lovell announced at a{ function on the opening: night of the one-man musical! "Lauder” in the Regent on May 24, that the trust was expecting a loss on the run-; ning of the theatre this year. He said last night that most of the $34,000 loss had been covered bv a reserve of $28,000 accrued from profits on some previous trust promotions. and held in a fixed deposit account against such a contingency.
