Six dead in bizarre murder
NZPA-Reuter Miami The police were still trying at the week-end to establish a motive for the execution-style murder of six men in a house in Carol City, north of Miami. The victims were accosted by three killers when they went to the house on Wednesday night, tied up, and shot methodically in the head, the police said. Five of the bodies were found in a semi-circle on the floor in a bedroom. “It brought to mind the Saint Valentines Day massacre,” said a police spokesman. “It looked like a prei meditated mass killing.” s A seventh man, wounded i and apparently left for dead, 1 was taken to hospital with a 5 head wound.
The police found smal amounts of cocaine anc marijuana in the house, anc said that it was possible the murders were connectec with a drugs racket. Robbery was also consid (ered a possible motive, bul the police ruled out the itheory that some bizarre re‘ligious sect might be conjnected. The dead men anc 1 their killers were all blacks, the police said. Miss Margaret Wooden, aged 24, was alone in the house when one of the murderers gained entry by posing as an electric repairman. He bound her up and admitted his two accomplices, who then lay in wait for their victims.
