It will be several days yet before al! Christchurch subscribers will have the use of their telephones. New faults are still being reported (30 overnight on’ Tuesday), and repairmen are finding the task is taking longer than expected. Between 3000 and 7000 subscribers in Christchurch' nd districts are believed to be without telephones. Sixty cables have vet to be
examined, although 28 faults were worked on yesterday. “We are a little dismayed; at the length of time repairs! are taking us.” said the Post;' ■Office telephone supervising h engineer (Mr B. L.
