N.Z. player for France

A New Zealand rugby player will play in France this year, and he will not be a member of the All Black side that will be there at the same time.

At its meeting in Christ-* church yesterday, the council of the New Zealand union agreed to a request by the French Rugby Feder ation that a New Zealand player be allowed to take part in a match in Paris, on October 22, between a French President’s XV and France.

The game is part of the federation’s seventy-fifth anniversary celebrations. The council decided that the chosen player would not be one of the All Blacks already in France. There will also be a trip to New Caledonia for two New Zealand players earlynext month. This is in response to a request for two players — both flankers — to be members of a New Caledonian side that will meet the touring French University club. The two players will be chosen by the national selectors.

An invitation has been accepted by the New Zealand union for the All Blacks to tour Argentina in IM3.
