Carpet service in demand
i A Christchurch cleaning [firm which runs a wet and dry vacuum service received nine calls yesterday from people who wanted their carpets cleared of water.
i The manager of Gen’s ' Original Cleaning Company, Mr J. H. Olliver, said he had lonly been able to help three |of the callers as all the other j homes were still too flooded. He said he could only i vacuum water off the carlpets if the water outside the (house was at a lower level.
He said it was best not to try’ to dry carpets with artificial heat as this tended to shrink them.
