Sentence on drug counts
NZPA Bangkok A Bangkok court on Saturday sentenced a New Zealander to three months imprisonment for possessing and attempting to smuggle marijuana out of the country. Christopher Holmes, aged 27, was arrested at Bangkok Airport on June 28 with 13 kilograms (28.61 b of marijuana before he
boarded a flight to New Zealand, police said. The prosecutor told the Criminal Court that customs officials found the drugs during a check in a box hidden among Holmes’s belongings. Police said that he admitted his guilt, and that the court reduced the initial sentence of six months imprisonment to three months.
