Rifle title to Mayfield
PA Oamaru The Mayfield shooter, J. Fleming, scoring a double possible, took the master grade in the South Island Smallbore Rifle Association’s championships at Oamaru at the week-end. I. Pottinger iPaparua) dropped one inner in his first match, to be runner-up with an aggregate 400,39. The South Island women’s title was taken by G. Mann (BafclUtha), with an aggregate of 400.32. while C. Nordquist (Methven) took the junior title with an aggregate of 199.15. Th P A grade was won by D. Palmer (Panakaio) 400.34, the B grade by M. Galletley (Otago University! 199.15, the C grade by G. Kyles (Oamaru Railway Men) 199.13, and the D grade by A Peters (Canterbury University), 198.15.
Canterbury University took the Open teams championship with an aggregate of 1592.134. Panama was ritnnet-up. 1592.126. Cashmere. 796.36. took the Andrew Cup, Otapiri, 797.66, the Pateman Cup, Milton. 592.38. the B grades team match. Milton, 1299.19, the Faulkner Cup. Richmond W.M.C., 297.24. the Timarn Cup. Rai!wav Men. 579.29, the C grade teams. and Papakaio. 562.22. the D grade teams.
