Telethon report
Graham Bromby, of i Gold Band Taxis, will attempt a 24-hour “despatchathon” from midnight tonight for as long as possible. The sponsors are drivers, owners and, he hopes, passengers, and the proceeds will be given to the Telethon. A soccer match featuring television and entertainment personalities will start at 1.45 p.m. tomorrow, at English Park. The Hoon Hay Jaycees will raise funds with a “Bavarian night” at Hei Hei Hall on Saturday night, June 25. There will be a march from the hall by a band and a horsedrawn cart to the Civic Theatre. Donations will be accepted en route. The route will be Wy- i cola Avenue, Hei Hei ' Road, Waterloo Road. Car- ’ men Road. Main South ' Road, Riccarton Road, ! Lincoln Road.
