“ACCESS” — Sir, — The management of South Pacific Television should have red faces after your comments on the shoddy treatment given by them to a team of S.P.T. workers on the “Access” programmes. The manner in which the management has cast aside from our screens the regular appearances of Mr Bryan Allpress is surely evidence that all is not right in these management circles. If it had used Mr Allpress wisely it might not now be facing such a cutback in support for the channel. “Access” is surely a better way of ensuring real public participation in television than the thousands of dollars being spent on a wide variety of soap operas and weak American comedy. Let us use what we have instead of relying on overseas handouts. MALCOLM AND JEANNIE RICKERBY.
