A: Incorrect. Too flat and ton close to the bud. B: Incorrect. Too close and too sloping. C: Correct. Cut just above and sloping away from the bud. D: Incorrect. Cut sloping the wrong way. E: Incorrect (as a rule). Cut too high above bud. It can however, be used to induce greater outward tendency of bud growth. A stub 2cm to 2.5cm above the bud is usually sufficient to effect this trend.
