Bird-lovers in Christchurch will have the opportunity to inspect more than 1000 entries in the Christchurch Canary and Cage Bird Club’s annual show on Friday. The birds are coming to Christchurch from as far afield as Bluff and Auckland — by air, for $5 a bird. However, the show’s publicity officer (Mr T. G. Carrodusi, savs that the big increase tn freight charges has not deterred owners, and entries are up on last year. , Canaries. budgerigars, parakeets, and finches will be judged for their type, shape, condition, and colour, and the owners of each sectionwinner will get medals and cash. The show will be open at the Hoon Hay School hall on Friday from 7 p.m. to 9.30 p.m. On Saturday it wil! be open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., and on Sunday from 9 a.m, to 2.45 p in.
