PA Timaru An 18-point scoring burst in the final 15 minutes gave South Canterbury an easy. 32-3, win over North Otago in the opening match o£ the season for both sides at Fraser Park on Tuesday. South Canterbury appeared well in control at half-time, with a 14-0 lead, but could not regain control until the closing stages South Canterbury’s five tries were scored by the wingers, Neville Richards (three) and lan Palmer (two), while Doug Nicol kicked three conversions and a penalty and Geoff Hannan a dropped goal. Barry Simpson kicked a penalty for North Otago.
