I SKIING ’77 is I I from Pro Ski 104 MANCHESTER ST (UPSTAIRS) Ph 60-938

± The New Zealand Association for Disabled Skiers was started in Christchurch to help disabled people to ski. Using fully qualified ski instructors and physiotherapists we will run pre-season orientation and fitness classes, and then day-long trips from Christchurch, Ashburton and Timaru to Mt Hutt. These should run over a six-trip period, once a week We'll be available every weekend at Mt Hutt and sometimes at Coronet Peak and Ruapehu. But there will be specially trained instructors on the Ski Schools at all the areas A day trip to Mt Hutt will cost about $8 50 per head, including transport, instruction and lift tickets, as wed as equipment rental. Sometimes we will be able to subsidise groups and individuals. Your annual subscription to N.Z.A.D.S. will help us run cheaper courses, and keep you informed about what we are doing. And we can help some of the disabled people who can’t really afford to ski, but who are dying to have a go. SKIING is fun. It's competitive It's great exercise. It's a family sport. It can be very social. It can be very peaceful. Solitary. You can make what you want to out of it. SKIING'S a sport in which many disabled people can participate on the same level as their families and friends. SKIING'S a great form of therapy for rehabilitation programmes. SKIING can be learnt by most people who can walk unaided, although some braces are acceptable.
